Venetian plaster is a centuries-old Italian wall finish made from slaked lime putty and marble dust. Applied in thin, translucent layers and burnished to a high polish, it creates the luminous depth of natural stone without the weight or cost. The technique originated in ancient Rome and was perfected during the Renaissance in Venice, where artisan plasterers developed the burnishing methods still used today.
Unlike synthetic wall coatings, authentic venetian plaster is breathable, naturally antimicrobial, and gets stronger over time as the lime carbonates. The finish is entirely customizable — from a soft matte to a glass-like mirror polish — and can be tinted to hundreds of colors. No two walls are ever identical, making every application a one-of-a-kind artwork.

Our Process
Surface Preparation
We skim-coat and sand walls to a perfectly flat surface. This step is non-negotiable — venetian plaster magnifies imperfections.
Base Coat
A tinted primer coat is applied and allowed to cure, establishing the base tone that will show through the translucent finish layers.
Finish Coats
Two to three thin coats of lime plaster are applied with a steel trowel in overlapping passes, building depth and texture.
Burnishing & Sealing
The final layer is burnished with a polished steel trowel while still slightly wet, then sealed with natural wax for protection.
