Marrakech clay is a mineral-based decorative finish inspired by the plaster traditions of Morocco. It produces a rich, layered surface with natural color movement and a distinctive tactile quality. The finish falls between lime wash and venetian plaster in terms of texture — more substantial than a wash, but softer and more organic than a polished plaster.
When clients send us a reference photo of a lime wash finish, we often create a Marrakech clay sample alongside the lime wash so they can compare. The two finishes occupy a similar realm but Marrakech clay tends to have more richness and depth. It is a versatile product that works in both modern and traditional settings.

Our Process
Surface Prep
Walls are cleaned, patched, and primed for optimal adhesion and a smooth base.
First Layer
A thin first coat is applied with a trowel to establish the base tone and initial texture.
Second Layer & Refinement
Additional coats build depth and color variation. The finish is refined with light trowel work for the desired texture.
Seal & Protect
A clear protective sealer is applied to ensure durability and easy maintenance.
